Gerasimos Koilakos is a freelance photographer based in Athens, Greece. After studying at the Leica academy he began his career in archaeological photography before dedicating himself to photojournalism. He works on social, political and economic issues both in Greece and abroad. His work has been published in Newsweek, Le Monde, Courrier International, L’Espresso, Internazionale, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, and Amnesty Journal among others. His reporting on the Greek crisis has received a gold medal at the 2015 Px3 competition and three honorable mentions at the 2012 and 2014 IPA awards.
